The Olive Tree

The Olive Tree

Kabbalists believe Israel to be the spiritual energy center of the world, and one of the most important trees in Israel is the olive tree.

What makes the olive tree particularly significant?

Well, for one, olive trees cannot be grafted with any other kind of tree. Lemon trees can be combined with orange trees. Plum trees can be combined with peach or cherry trees. But olive trees? Olive trees can only survive as olive trees.

We can compare this to the Light of the Creator.

The Light stands by itself. Darkness cannot exist with the Light. The only thing that can combine with the Light is the Light.

How does this apply to our lives?

What this means is that we cannot do negative actions and expect the results to fulfill us. A person cannot steal from another and expect to be fulfilled by the money taken because a person can never be fulfilled by unearned Light.

Sometimes we get so busy with ourselves that we don’t take the time to think about who we are what we are, or where we are going. We need to take at least 20 minutes every day to evaluate our direction and what our life is really all about, and to make sure that we are creating only positivity and Light for ourselves and therefore, for the world.
