Elevating Ourselves

It is said that Moses was chosen to lead his people because of his concern for a baby lamb. Moses cared so much for his flocks that when the journey became difficult, he bent down to pick up a lamb and carry it back to where it had come from. God said that if Moses could care so much for a lamb, then perhaps he could be the leader of his people.
So what’s the big deal? I’m sure that most of us who are good-natured would have done the same thing. And yet for a little action like this, Moses was given the right to be the leader of Israel.

But this is the whole point of spirituality. It is these subtle, slight opportunities to be kind that can elevate us, but that, when ignored, can create the veils behind which we find ourselves, making it more difficult for us to rise in our consciousness.
