Flow is more about what’s in your highest coming to YOU by universal
grace and receiving, rather than you pushing hard, controlling, or
forcibly trying to attain it.
It requires a level of openness, fluidity, flexibility, and space –
for you to breathe, for the new to ‘land’, to receive, to be inspired,
and to shift into the positive states that naturally attract your
heart’s desires in more elegant ways.
Struggle, stress, hardship, or sufferance, indicate that you are out of flow.
I’m not talking about challenges here – challenges may, in fact, be
part of your life’s flow – the natural turning of tides, healings,
releasing shifts, processing of ‘stuff’ on your journey of awakening and
remembering the love that you are, etc.
What causes you to get out of flow?
Anything that takes you away from your true nature and the awareness
of your inherent worth and loveability and blocks the love you have for
yourself, others and the world, and the love the universe has for you.
That might include negative beliefs, fear, control, blame, judgment,
shame, guilt, over busy-ness, feelings of worthlessness, self-pity,
harboured grievances, etc.
What puts you back into flow?
Essentially anything that lifts your heart and spirit, brings you
joy, opens you to greater love, engages your gifts, talents and
potential, returns you to a truer experience of yourself, and opens you
to positive states, such as happiness, joy, love, peace, inspiration,
celebration, fun, etc.
Now, reaching those positive states may involve some emotional
processing, letting go, etc. and that might not feel pleasant at the
time, but may very much be part of your flow journey, so allow that too.
You may need to go through a tunnel of those emotions to reach the
light at the other end.
Emotions of any kind are supposed to do just that – flow.
So if you’re out of flow it could also be that your emotions are
blocked and something isn’t moving within you that wants to, and that
may include emotions that you’re stuffing down and could be showing up
externally as blocks on your path – emotions it would serve you to
release.
Anything that helps you connect to and unleash more of your true nature opens you to flow.
Love, laughter, gratitude, giving and receiving, forgiving yourself
and others, trust, appreciation, compassion, positive beliefs,
spirit-lifting visions and goals, enthusiasm, fun, connecting with
others, self-acceptance, understanding, authenticity, non-judgment,
creativity, relaxation, are all allies to flow.
It may depend on what’s lacking at a given time – perhaps your
inspiration and imagination has run dry which is blocking flow. Or
perhaps it’s fun and joy that you’re experiencing a drought of, or
intimacy and connection.
Offering yourself the antidote of whatever you sense you’re depleted
in will help restore you and lubricate the wheels of serendipitous flow.
Changing gears…
To move from feeling stuck and out-of-synch back into flow there may
be a gear changing process. This may be swift, instant even, or it may
appear to take a period of time, be that minutes, some hours, or a few
days even.
It essentially involves the release of what is holding you back and weighing you down, and the re-aligning of your energy.
This could be helped by any number of allies on physical, mental and
emotional levels – basically doing more of anything that you love and
that brings you joy!
Here are some everyday examples for activating more FLOW back into your life:
* Self-love/other love/any love. Pretty obvious, but always worth a reminder To support opening to love you can receive the free Global Love Meditation MP3 audio at: www.globallovemeditation.com
* Time in nature is always a great remedy for renewing your energy.
It breathes the love of Creation through beautiful forms that nourish
your soul and is a true teacher and reminder of flow.
Nature teaches us so beautifully about flow…
Water doesn’t struggle to flow. Nor do trees struggle to grow, the
sun to rise, flowers to bloom, the earth to spin, the wind to blow or
rain to fall.
* A holiday, break in routine, time for reflection, celebration, joy
or positive pampering, can take you off the hamster wheel of stress and
return you to the lightness and ease of flow.
* Meditation is a great way to diffuse the ‘monkey mind’, raise your
vibration, and help you connect more with your true nature, love and
wisdom within, as well as the love and light of your Higher Self and the
universe that is there for you in every moment.
* Releasing constricting emotions can also be helpful in making the
shift from feeling blocked and stuck, to feeling free, alive and
positive once again.
Honour your feelings by feeling them and allow them to be expressed
and move through you to be released. There are other methods too, so
explore any that appeal to you (journaling, communicating them to
yourself or another, EFT, the Release Technique, energy healing,
creativity, etc).
* Adopting positive beliefs and attitudes raises your energy and
changes your reality, opening you to happier brighter possibilities and
positive flow that reflects that.
* Your diet can affect your energy and balance for flow. Excessive
coffee and other toxic substances such as smoking, drinking, etc.,
affect your brain and body chemistry. A healthy diet with high energy
fresh natural foods aligns you to more of the natural energy and flow of
Life.
* Fun, play and laughter can be the fastest routes out of struggle
and ego, back to the joy of your true self, and the ease of flow that
comes with that.
* Know you deserve and open to receive. Low self-worth and feelings
of underserving can block the receiving of positive realities that want
to come to you, and the love, success, and dreams-come-true.
* Forgive yourself. You are not your darkness, failings or mistakes.
The truth of who you are is wholly innocent. Let yourself off the hook
once and for all and allow in more love – more of the love that you are
and the love that is ever available to you and ever wanting to be given
to you.
* Letting go can be part of flow. This may seem scary. That’s
understandable if you fear loss and the unknown, which letting go may
appear to threaten. However, just like winter, endings are always
followed by new births and new beginnings, leading you to a new
Spring-time in your life.
They may not feel pleasant at the time, be it the ending of a chapter
of your life, a relationship, job, or home location, but if you see
endings as the predecessors of change and new birth, you can embrace
them with greater trust, enthusiasm even!
I have a personal motto mantra that sums this up neatly: “In letting
go you can only ever win; if something’s for your best it will come
back, if not something better will”.
Take a deep breath, let go, and allow the dawning of a new chapter in your life.
It is holding on that blocks what’s next and more serving to you being able to flow to you.
If your cup is full of the past – holding on to positive or negative
aspects of that past – it cannot be refilled with new joys, successes,
loves, dreams, people, opportunities and so on.
Let go and let flow.
Flow may at times feel scary initially – at least scary to the ego – because you may feel out of control.
Instead T R U S T in the love that is there for you in every moment
and the truth that all good things want to come to you, and that you
both deserve and have the power to manifest and allow that.
You are loved more than you will ever know. Knowing this in itself
can add a new level of faith and help you step more freely into flow.
Walk hand-in-hand with the universe. Walk hand-in-hand with love.
If you’re struggling, surrender to the current of life.
Success is not about pushing up-stream, forcing, trying hard, or struggling.
If you’re experiencing any of this, choose to let go of struggle and embrace the grace of flow.
