We Can Always Change

We Can Always Change

A kabbalist was walking late at night in the streets of his small town when he noticed the shoemaker was still hard at work in his shop. Curious, the kabbalist decided to walk inside. As he opened the door, he saw that the candle lighting the shop was just about to burn out, so he said to the shoemaker, “Go to sleep already! Why are you working so late? It’s time to stop your work.”

The shoemaker replied, “As long as the Light is still burning, I have time to work, time to fix, and time to repair.” At that point, the kabbalist realized that the shoemaker wasn’t talking about fixing shoes—he was talking about the Light of the soul!

As long as the Light still burns inside of us, we have the ability to change and connect to the Creator.
