Soul as Nature

Soul as Nature

I will have proper reverence for all that is alive. When I lose my ability to respect and stand in awe of the mystery of life, I lose my soul along with it. I become a modern person in search of a soul, too often looking for it where it cannot be found. I become a feel-good person who constantly seeks that feeling of being "turned on" in order to feel connected to my own soul, my own aliveness. This is a setup for addiction - an invitation for every-ism to take over an empty place, then, eventually to take over me. Soul never left - I did. I will observe the process of soul, the process of life and living.
I see soul in all that lives.

Flower in the crannied wall,
I pluck you out of the crannies,
I hold you here, root and all, in my hand,
Little flower - but if I could understand
What you are, root and all, and all in all,
I should know what God and man is.
Alfred, Lord Tennyson
