Today I recognise that more than a good time, more than stability, more than happiness, what my children need is TRUTH. Life will happen to my children whether I want it to or not. Protecting them from it is an illusion and only confuses things because it's never really clear underneath it all who I really want to protect - them or the still wounded child within me. The TRUTH may hurt for a while but lies and denial will hurt much longer. Children know the TRUTH of the situation unconsciously and it is painful for them when what they know inside is never spoken of or validated.
I can share and live with the TRUTH.
