Creating Change Through the Power of Love Esau was full of hatred for his brother, Jacob. But when Esau felt genuine love and care coming from Jacob, he couldn’t hold on to his negativity; his hatred could not exist in the energy of his brother’s love. For us, this is a beautiful lesson. If we can somehow generate this kind of energy--this energy of pure love—and reach deep down inside to acknowledge and care for another person, then we can have an enormously positive effect even on those people who are the most antagonistic to us and to everyone else. Through our own efforts to connect with the Light that we have within, we can turn hatred into love. Most of the time, the reason there is hatred in a relationship is because there is no room for one party to bridge the void and create a different dynamic. Jacob’s ability to embrace and to care allowed him to create a change in his brother. In our own lives, too, if we can meditate and direct positive energy towards those people that are most hateful towards us, they will change. The change may be ever so slight, but there will be a change.
