We see it in big gold letters on greeting cards and we hear it from the voices of strangers in the street singing, “Peace on Earth, goodwill towards men.”
It’s nice to hear and it feels good.
It feels possible even. Because it is.
Even in this time when there is war and conflict, peace remains a possibility.
At the Kabbalah Centre, we teach that each of the 70 nations in the world has its own angel, who is a presiding minister over everything that happens with respect to that nation. When the angels of each nation hold hands in unity, there is peace. When they fight in the upper worlds, war breaks out in our physical world.
But there is a great secret given to us by the kabbalists: Though the angels determine what happens in the physical reality, we affect the angels with our consciousness and our actions. What a powerful understanding this is that we can control our own destiny beyond the scope of the heavens!
If we want a reality of peace, we need to have a consciousness of peace. No matter what.
Real peace is unconditional. It doesn’t care who did what to whom. It doesn’t depend on us being comfortable. It doesn’t rely on feelings and it doesn’t come just when it’s easy and then go racing out the door when the going gets tough.
When we can look at friend or foe and respect them unconditionally, we can create a reality of peace.
It’s easy to start a conflict or a war, but it’s almost impossible to know how it will end.
From a global scale to our own personal lives, whether it is a fight between countries, a conflict with our neighbours or maybe just an argument with a family member, all it takes is just one person giving the other the space to be who he or she is.
It seems so simple, but truth is simple.
If we can take down our defenses long enough to see the Light that exists in the other human being across the battle field, across the street, or across the dinner table, we can move the angels to bring an end to all conflicts.
Peace is the eternal and lasting certainty that the Light is in everyone and everything. No matter what.
Joy to the world.
All the best,
Yehuda
Hey Zayin Yud
ANGELIC INFLUENCES
I will transform my character.
As I close my eyes and reach out into the network of angels in the universe, I see the particles all around me, and I commit to connecting with the good forces. I will be more tolerant, sharing and compassionate.
I see an abundance of positive angels and welcome them into my realm.
